Since 1923, when Harry Padget was appointed as the first
Riverdale police officer, the borough has maintained
one of the best trained and well equipped municipal
police departments in Morris County. The Riverdale Police
Department employs eighteen officers who carry on a
eighty-two year tradition of professional public safety
